Eagles Trade Pro Bowl Linebacker Haason Reddick to the Jets

The Philadelphia Eagles have made a significant move by trading their two-time Pro Bowl linebacker Haason Reddick to the New York Jets, according to ESPN on Friday. In return, the Eagles will receive a conditional third-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draftโ€”a pick that could be elevated to a second-round selection if Reddick meets specific performance criteria.

Reddick, who has been a standout performer over his seven-season career, consistently posted over 10 sacks in each of the past four campaigns and earned Pro Bowl honors in both 2022 and 2023. His performance peaked with an All-Pro selection in 2022, where he led the league in forced fumbles with five.

The Eagles previously invested in Reddick by signing him to a three-year, $45 million contract extension in 2022, which was set to expire after the 2024 season. Despite reaching Super Bowl LVII last season, the Eagles fell short against the Kansas City Chiefs. The team finished the 2023 regular season with an 11-6 record but faced a tough end, losing five of their last six games and eventually being eliminated by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the Wild Card Game.

This trade marks a new chapter for both teams, with the Jets bolstering their defensive lineup and the Eagles looking to strategize for the future by potentially acquiring a higher draft pick.
