Contract negotiations between Bayern Munich and their Canadian star Alphonso Davies have hit a snag, with Davies' agent sharply criticizing the club for presenting what he describes as an \"ultimatum.\"
Davies' current contract with Bayern is set to expire in the summer of 2025. According to reports from The Athletic in February, Davies has reached a verbal agreement with Real Madrid. If Bayern doesn't secure a new deal soon, the Bundesliga giants may have to decide between letting Davies leave for free next year or losing him for a reduced fee.
Max Eberl, Bayern's sporting director, responded to the tensions by stating, \"I can say we made Alphonso a very concrete, appreciative offer. At some point in life, you have to say yes or no.\"
Nick Huoseh, Davies' agent, countered Bayern's stance in an interview, saying, \"It's unfair that Alphonso is now being attacked. We were close to an agreement a year ago. Then the entire club management was replaced. We didn't hear anything for seven months, although I tried during this time to contact the club myself.\"
