Chen Wanting, the manager who led Jiangsu to victory in the Chinese National Women's Football Championship in March, is confident that the upcoming season of the Chinese Women's Super League will be more competitive.
Since taking charge of Jiangsu in 2022, Chen focused on avoiding relegation despite facing challenges such as limited sponsorship, foreign players, and a shortage of backup players. Her efforts paid off when Jiangsu triumphed over Hainan with a 1-0 win in the National Championship final on March 8.
\"I'm excited about it because it's our first title,\" Chen shared in an interview with Xinhua News Agency. \"Last year, we reached the final but couldn't field all our starting players due to injuries and national team commitments. We were proud to finish as runners-up. This time, we are better prepared with a more complete roster and our sights set solely on the trophy.\"
