In a remarkable display of skill and determination, Chinese table tennis star Wang Chuqin has ascended to the top of the men's singles world rankings. The International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) unveiled its latest rankings on Tuesday, cementing Wang's position as the new world No. 1.

Wang's victory at the WTT Singapore Smash earned him 2,000 points, allowing him to surpass his compatriot Fan Zhendong. The competition also saw finalist Liang Jingkun climb to third place, followed by teammates Ma Long and Lin Gaoyuan, who secured seventh place respectively.

The men's Top 10 rankings feature a diverse group of athletes, including French teenager Felix Lebrun, Lin Yun-ju of Chinese Taipei, Hugo Calderano from Brazil, Japan's Tomokazu Harimoto, and German penholder Qiu Dang.

Wang's success wasn't limited to singles; he also achieved top positions in other categories. Fan Zhendong led the men's doubles, while Sun Yingsha dominated the mixed doubles rankings.

In the women's singles, Sun Yingsha remains at the pinnacle, with WTT Singapore Smash champion Wang Manyu rising to second place. Her Chinese counterparts Wang Yidi, Chen Meng, and Chen Xingtong follow in the Top 5.

The women's Top 10 also includes Japan's Hina Hayata and Mima Ito in sixth and eighth places, respectively, South Korea's Shin Yu-bin in seventh, Romania's Bernadette Szocs in ninth, and Puerto Rico's Adriana Diaz rounding out the top ten.

Adding to the excitement, Chen Meng and Wang Manyu clinched the second spot in the women's doubles rankings at the WTT Singapore Smash, trailing only behind South Korean duo Jeon Ji-hee and Shin Yu-bin.
