Excitement Builds as 2024 Village Super League Finals Kick Off in Guizhou

The Village Super League (VSL) Finals of China have officially kicked off in Guizhou Province, marking an exciting start to the competition. The opening game featured a fierce matchup between Pingdi Village and Kouzhai Village in Rongjiang County, southwest China's Guizhou Province, held this past Saturday.

After enduring intense preliminaries involving 62 teams over the past one and a half months, 20 teams have secured their spots in the finals. These teams are split into two groups, with the top four from each group advancing to the knockout stage, heightening the competition's stakes.

This year, the finals are witnessing a significant influx of new talent, with eight teams participating for the first time. This surge of fresh teams is expected to make the initial phase of the finals even more unpredictable and engaging for fans.

To enhance the tournament's excitement and player participation, each of the 20 finalist teams is permitted to recruit new players from those eliminated during the preliminary stage. Teams can maintain a roster of up to 35 players, including a maximum of five players who were born outside Rongjiang but within Guizhou. Additionally, only three such players are allowed on the field during any single game, ensuring a balanced and competitive play.
