Chinese Envoy Attends Seychelles Presidential Inauguration to Deepen Ties

China's President Xi Jinping's special envoy, Gao Yunlong, attended the inauguration of Seychelles' President Patrick Herminie in Victoria on Sunday, marking a fresh chapter in China-Seychelles relations.

On Monday, they met in the capital to exchange warm greetings. Gao, who also serves as vice chairperson of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, delivered President Xi's best wishes to Herminie.

Gao emphasized that China is ready to work with Seychelles to implement the outcomes of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation Beijing Summit, turning friendship into tangible achievements that benefit both peoples and elevate the bilateral strategic partnership.

President Herminie returned his own best wishes to Xi Jinping and praised China's global initiatives. He reaffirmed that Seychelles will uphold the one-China principle and deepen cooperation with China through frameworks such as the Belt and Road Initiative to drive shared growth.

This high-level exchange highlights a shared commitment to collaboration across infrastructure, trade, and sustainable development. As both sides move forward, new opportunities are set to emerge from this strengthened alliance.
