Israel-Iran Exchanges Escalate: Civilians Urged to Evacuate

Israel and Iran traded fresh strikes on Sunday, killing and wounding civilians and raising the specter of a broader regional conflict.

Iran's Health Ministry spokesperson Hossein Kermanpour reported 224 deaths and more than 1,200 injuries since the latest round of Israeli strikes began, with 90% of casualties being civilians. Among those killed were 60 people in a single attack that flattened a 14-story apartment block in Tehran, half of them children.

In response, the Israeli military announced precision strikes on several targets in Iran, urging residents in designated areas to evacuate immediately to avoid further harm.

According to an official briefed by Reuters, Iran has told mediators Qatar and Oman that it will not negotiate a ceasefire with the U.S. while it remains under Israeli attack.

Analysts warn that without renewed diplomatic engagement, this tit-for-tat escalation could spill over and draw in neighboring countries, potentially disrupting energy markets and regional stability.
