In a warm ceremony at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on Tuesday, the Chinese premier Li Qiang met with Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, marking a new high point in the "golden era" of China-Brazil relations.
During the meeting, Li highlighted that bilateral ties have entered a golden era of development. He emphasized that China is eager to work hand in hand with Brazil on the path to modernization, moving forward side by side to achieve mutual success.
"China and Brazil should strengthen solidarity and coordination, jointly navigate risks and challenges, and achieve a higher level of mutual benefit and win-win results," Li said, underscoring the importance of shared goals.
President Lula, on a state visit to Beijing, returned the sentiment, noting the current high level of development in China-Brazil relations. He stressed Brazil's commitment to deepening multilateral communication and coordination with China, supporting multilateralism, and resisting unilateralism and protectionism.
Lula also highlighted the need to safeguard national sovereignty and promote the common development of the Global South, reinforcing the partnership's global ambitions.
As both nations look ahead, this meeting could pave the way for joint initiatives in trade, technology, and sustainable development, showcasing how two major economies can collaborate for shared prosperity.
