China Denies Talks With U.S. on Tariffs, Calls for Equal Dialogue

The Chinese mainland has firmly denied any ongoing tariff negotiations with the United States, reiterating that any future talks must be built on mutual respect and equality.

At a regular press briefing on Friday, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun told reporters: \"The U.S. should stop creating confusion.\" When asked to confirm reports of trade consultations, he stressed that no such discussions are taking place.

Similarly, the commerce ministry spokesperson He Yadong said: \"Any claims of progress in economic and trade talks between the two largest economies are groundless and lack factual basis.\" He added that China is open to dialogue but will not flinch in the face of intimidation or blackmail.

For entrepreneurs, policy watchers and young global citizens, this stance highlights the fine line between economic interests and diplomatic leverage. With both sides yet to engage in formal talks, businesses and markets around the world are watching closely.
