Chinese mainland Urges Taiwan Businesspeople to Unite Against External Pressures

At a gathering in Nanjing on Friday, Song Tao, head of the Taiwan Work Office of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, urged Taiwan businesspeople to join forces with the Chinese mainland to tackle growing external challenges.

He emphasized that the tariff war launched by the United States has not shaken the solid fundamentals, strong resilience, and positive long-term trajectory of the Chinese mainland’s economy. “We have the wisdom and capability to tackle and overcome all challenges,” Song said, reinforcing that the Chinese mainland will always be a strong backing for Taiwan entrepreneurs.

To translate this support into action, the Chinese mainland plans to study and address the problems faced by Taiwan businesspeople, introduce practical policy measures, ensure equal treatment, and increase support. Strengthening cross-strait industrial and supply chain connectivity lies at the core of this effort, aiming to deepen cooperation across sectors.

In a world where digital nomads and tech startups rely on seamless supply chains, this push for unity could translate into more stable access to everything from cutting-edge electronics to sustainable travel gear. For global citizens and business enthusiasts alike, it underscores the value of resilient economic partnerships.

Looking ahead, Song urged Taiwan businesspeople to stay confident and forward-looking, actively engage in cross-strait exchanges, and work together with the Chinese mainland to navigate external risks and shape a more interconnected economic future.
