Zelenskyy’s Approval Surges Amid Strained US Relations: Latest Poll

Amid escalating tensions with the United States, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's popularity has experienced a significant boost. A recent poll conducted by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology (KIIS) reveals that Zelenskyy's approval rating has risen by 10 percentage points since a contentious exchange with U.S. President Donald Trump.

The survey, carried out between February 14 and March 4, found that 67% of Ukrainians now trust Zelenskyy, up from 57% the month before. Concurrently, his disapproval rating has decreased from 37% to 27%.

KIIS executive director Anton Hrushetskyi attributes this surge in support to the Ukrainian public rallying behind their leader during a challenging period marked by deteriorating relations with the U.S., Ukraine's primary military supporter. "Ukrainians perceive the rhetoric of the new U.S. administration as an attack on the whole of Ukraine and all Ukrainians," Hrushetskyi stated.

This rise in approval comes more than three years after the onset of the Russia-Ukraine conflict, highlighting Zelenskyy's enduring support among his constituents during times of international tension.
