China Urges Swift Two-State Solution for Gaza Peace

In a strong appeal for peace in the Middle East, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi called on all parties to accelerate the two-state solution and support the establishment of an independent Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders.

Speaking after chairing the United Nations Security Council's high-level meeting on \"Practicing multilateralism, reforming and improving global governance,\" Wang emphasized that the unresolved question of Palestine lies at the heart of the Gaza conflict.

Wang stated, \"Until the two-state solution is implemented, the cycle of violence will not end.\" He urged all parties in the Middle East to transcend differences and work towards the creation of a Palestinian state, advocating for the United Nations to admit Palestine as a full member state.

Highlighting the significance of Gaza, Wang described it as a Palestinian homeland and part of Palestinian territory that should not be entangled in international politics.

The Foreign Minister also stressed the importance of continuing to implement the ceasefire agreement and advancing follow-up negotiations constructively. He underscored the principle of \"the Palestinians governing Palestine\" in the post-war governance of Gaza, aligning with the two-state solution to achieve long-term peace and stability in the region.
