Middle East Leaders Condemn Israeli PM’s Proposal for Palestinian State in Saudi Arabia

In a move that has sparked widespread condemnation, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu suggested the establishment of a Palestinian state on Saudi Arabian territory. Speaking during an interview with Israel's Channel 14, Netanyahu stated, \"the Saudis can establish a Palestinian state in Saudi Arabia; they have plenty of land there.\"

The Saudi Foreign Ministry swiftly rejected Netanyahu's remarks, emphasizing that the kingdom stands firmly against actions that distract from what it calls the \"continuous crimes\" committed by Israel. Saudi officials reiterated the Palestinian people's right to their land and advocated for a two-state solution as the only path to lasting peace.

Several other Middle Eastern nations echoed Saudi Arabia's stance. The Iraqi Foreign Ministry condemned the proposal as a blatant violation of Saudi sovereignty and a direct assault on Palestinian rights, highlighting it as contrary to international law and the UN Charter. Iraq expressed full solidarity with Saudi Arabia, asserting that any infringement on national sovereignty is unacceptable.

Jordan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs also denounced Netanyahu's comments, describing them as exclusionary and inciteful. Jordanian spokesperson Sufian Qudah called for international condemnation of the remarks and reaffirmed Jordan's support for Saudi Arabia.

Qatar's Foreign Ministry labeled the suggestion a flagrant violation of international law and emphasized the Palestinian cause's justness, advocating for an independent state based on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.

In response to these developments, Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi has called for an emergency meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). Araghchi condemned the proposed relocation of Palestinians from Gaza as part of a U.S.-Israeli plan aimed at the \"ethnic cleansing of Gaza and elimination of Palestine,\" urging the OIC to take decisive action in defense of Palestinian rights.
