In a stern warning, Iran's Foreign Minister, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, has declared that the nation will make an immediate and decisive reaction to any attack on its nuclear facilities.
Speaking exclusively to Qatar's Al Jazeera TV network, Araghchi emphasized that U.S. involvement in any potential Israeli strikes on Iran's nuclear sites would be among the \"biggest historical mistakes.\"
Araghchi highlighted that Iran's nuclear program has been developed domestically, relying on the expertise and capabilities of its own scientists. \"Iran's nuclear program is inside the Iranian scientists' brains, not on the ground. Such a capability and program will not be destroyed through bombardments and airstrikes,\" he stated.
He further pointed out that Iran's nuclear facilities are dispersed across several regions of the country, making them \"very difficult and even impossible\" targets for airstrikes and well-protected by robust air defense systems.
\"Unlike previous times, if any attack is carried out against Iran's nuclear facilities, the country's reaction will be immediate and decisive,\" Araghchi warned. He cautioned that such an attack could escalate into an all-out war in the region, leading to widespread disaster.
Despite possessing the capability to produce nuclear weapons, Araghchi assured that Iran does not intend to develop such weapons and maintains that nuclear armaments are forbidden. \"We ensure our security through other methods and maintain that nuclear weapons are forbidden,\" he added.
