China and Vietnam Open Asia’s Largest Cross-Border Tourism Zone

The Detian-Ban Gioc Waterfall, the largest cross-border waterfall in Asia, has become a symbol of burgeoning cooperation between China and Vietnam. This majestic natural landmark straddles the border, with the Chinese side located in Chongzuo, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and the Vietnamese side in Cao Bing.

Since its official opening last October, the Detian-Ban Gioc tourism cooperation zone has welcomed visitors from both nations, streamlining travel with customs clearance services within the zone. Tourists can enjoy seamless group bookings, time-limited cross-border travel, group entry and exit procedures, and curated tour routes, enhancing the overall travel experience.

Hu Fan, vice chairman of Guangxi, told Xinhua before the establishment of the zone that the official launch of the cross-border tourism cooperation zone is expected to yield valuable insights for high-level opening up and collaboration between the two countries.

This initiative underscores China's growing friendship and collaboration with ASEAN countries. By fostering closer people-to-people connections across various sectors, China and its ASEAN partners aim to build a more integrated and cooperative community, driving mutual understanding and trust.
