U.S. Warships Successfully Defend Against Houthi Drone and Missile Attacks

In a bold display of maritime defense, U.S. warships successfully repelled a series of drone and missile attacks launched by Yemen's Houthi rebels while transiting the strategic Bab al-Mandab Strait on Tuesday.

The Pentagon reported that on Monday, two American naval vessels came under siege from a coordinated assault involving at least eight drones, five anti-ship ballistic missiles, and three anti-ship cruise missiles. Demonstrating advanced defensive capabilities, the U.S. warships intercepted and neutralized all incoming threats without sustaining any damage.

Pentagon spokesperson Air Force Major General Patrick Ryder confirmed that there were no attacks on the aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln during the incident. This marks a significant response to the Houthis' aggressive maneuvers in the Red and Arabian seas.

Earlier, Houthi spokesperson Yahya Sarea announced that the group had conducted two separate military operations targeting U.S. naval assets. The first operation focused on an aircraft carrier in the Arabian Sea, while the second aimed at two destroyers in the Red Sea, both lasting approximately eight hours.

The relentless efforts by the U.S. Navy to secure vital maritime routes underscore the ongoing tensions in the region and the commitment to maintaining freedom of navigation against hostile actions.
