China and Russia Kick Off 19th Annual Strategic Security Talks

This week marks the commencement of the 19th annual China-Russia strategic security consultation, alongside the ninth meeting of the China-Russia law-enforcement and security cooperation mechanism. Scheduled to take place in China from November 11 to 15, the meetings underscore the ongoing collaboration between the two nations in addressing global security challenges.

Sergei Shoigu, the secretary of the Russian Federation Security Council, is set to attend these important discussions. Joining him will be Wang Yi, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and the director of the Office of the Central Commission for Foreign Affairs. Together, they will engage in talks aimed at strengthening strategic ties and enhancing cooperative efforts in security matters.

Moreover, Chen Wenqing, another influential figure within the CPC Central Committee and the secretary of the Central Political and Legal Affairs Commission, will also participate in dialogues with Shoigu. These high-level interactions are expected to focus on mutual security concerns, law enforcement collaboration, and the broader geopolitical landscape.

The annual consultations serve as a platform for China and Russia to align their security strategies, address emerging threats, and promote stability within their regions and beyond. As global dynamics continue to evolve, the outcomes of these meetings will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of international security cooperation.
