South Korea Denies Alleged Drone Incursion into Pyongyang

In a tense escalation, the Democratic Peopleโ€™s Republic of Korea (DPRK) has accused the South Korean military of orchestrating a drone incursion into its capital, Pyongyang. According to the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA), the drone was deployed to disperse anti-DPRK leaflets across key locations in the city.

The KCNA cited an investigation conducted by a joint group from the Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of State Security. This team analyzed flight plans and data from the drone's flight control module recovered after the drone crashed.

Tracing the drone's path, the report details its departure from Paekryong Island on October 8. It then ventured over South Hwanghae Province, Cho Islet, Namjoap Islet, Chollima District, Nampho Municipality, before entering Pyongyang. Once inside, the drone scattered political leaflets near the DPRK Foreign Ministry and Sungri metro station, as well as around the Ministry of National Defense.

However, South Korea's military has dismissed the allegations as \"unworthy\" of verification or response, according to Yonhap News Agency. The incident underscores the ongoing tensions between the two Koreas, highlighting the fragile security dynamics in the region.
