The recent escalation in the Middle East highlights the urgent need for a ceasefire, according to a spokesperson from the Chinese Foreign Ministry.
During a daily press briefing on Monday, spokesperson Lin Jian addressed concerns following Israel's strikes on Iranian military targets on October 26.
Lin emphasized that China opposes the infringement of other countries' sovereignty and security, as well as the wanton use of force.
He stated that the current situation in the Middle East is highly tense and urged all relevant parties to avoid further escalating the overall security risks in the region.
Lin called on the international community, especially major influential countries, to play a constructive role and create the necessary conditions for easing the tense situation in the region.
