Violence continues to escalate in the Middle East as Israeli military strikes have resulted in the deaths of at least 36 Palestinians across the Gaza Strip on Sunday, predominantly in the northern region. Palestinian health officials reported that 34 of the fatalities occurred in the Jabalia refugee camp, a focal point of the ongoing Israeli offensive against Hamas fighters.
In addition to the losses in Gaza, southern Lebanon has also witnessed tragic events. An Israeli strike in Sidon (Saida) claimed the lives of at least five individuals and left 13 wounded, according to Lebanon's health ministry.
Central Israel was not spared from the turmoil, as a truck collided with a bus stop at a major intersection, injuring dozens. Israeli rescue workers are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident, with four victims sustaining serious injuries.
Amid these conflicts, Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has urged Iranian officials to determine the best way to demonstrate Iran's power to Israel following a recent Israeli attack on Iranian military targets. The attack involved multiple airstrikes near Tehran and western Iran, which Iran has downplayed as causing limited damage.
In response to the heightened tensions, the Israeli military announced the elimination of over 40 terrorists in the Jabalia area within the past 24 hours. Additionally, Israeli forces have issued evacuation orders for residents of 14 villages in southern Lebanon, urging them to move north of the Awali River.
On the diplomatic front, the directors of the CIA and Israel's Mossad are scheduled to meet with Qatar's prime minister in Doha on Sunday. The talks aim to negotiate a new short-term ceasefire in Gaza and facilitate the release of hostages held by Hamas in exchange for the release of Palestinian prisoners by Israel.
