Xi Jinping Calls for Strengthened China-US Partnership

In a significant show of commitment to Sino-American relations, Chinese Premier Xi Jinping extended his congratulations to the National Committee on U.S.-China Relations (NCUSCR) during their annual Gala Dinner on Tuesday.

Xi expressed his appreciation for the NCUSCR’s persistent efforts in fostering exchanges and collaboration between China and the United States across various sectors. He also congratulated William E. Ford, CEO of General Atlantic, the esteemed honoree of this year’s gala.

Highlighting the pivotal role of China-U.S. ties, Xi emphasized that their relationship is among the most crucial bilateral relations globally, impacting the prosperity of both nations and the future of humanity.

He reiterated China’s commitment to managing its relationship with the U.S. based on mutual respect, peaceful coexistence, and win-win cooperation, asserting that the success of each nation presents opportunities for the other.

Xi advocated for a partnership where both countries aid each other’s development rather than impede it. He expressed China’s willingness to collaborate with the United States as partners and friends, a cooperation that would benefit not only the two nations but the entire world.

Reflecting on the third plenary session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China held in July, Xi outlined China’s plans to deepen comprehensive reforms and advance modernization. He highlighted that openness is a defining feature of China’s modernization journey and pledged to further enhance institutional openness, build a top-tier international business environment, and leverage China’s vast market and domestic demand to create more opportunities for China-U.S. cooperation.

Xi concluded by urging the NCUSCR and global partners to continue supporting China-U.S. relations, engage in mutual visits and exchanges, and deepen beneficial cooperation. He called for translating the 'San Francisco vision' into reality to bring greater benefits to both peoples and inject stability and positive energy into the world.

On the same day, U.S. President Joe Biden reciprocated by sending a congratulatory message to the NCUSCR’s annual gala dinner, underscoring the importance of continued dialogue and cooperation between the two nations.
