In response to the tragic attack on a Chinese convoy at Port Qasim on October 6th, which resulted in the loss and injury of Chinese personnel, China swiftly dispatched an inter-agency working group to Pakistan, according to a statement from a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson on Friday.
The working group arrived in Islamabad on October 8th and immediately collaborated with the Chinese Embassy in Pakistan and the impacted company to coordinate the emergency response efforts.
During their visit, the team held intensive meetings with key Pakistani officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Interior, and various military, police, and intelligence departments. They urged Pakistan to diligently address the situation by comprehensively investigating the incident, holding the perpetrators accountable, enhancing security measures, and ensuring the safety of all Chinese personnel and ongoing projects in Pakistan.
Pakistan has strongly condemned the terrorist attack, vowing to thoroughly investigate the incident and capture those responsible. The Pakistani government has also pledged to bolster security protocols to safeguard China's interests within the country.
While in Pakistan, the Chinese working group paid their respects to the victims, visiting the injured at local hospitals and meeting with company employees at the project site to offer condolences and support during this challenging time.
