China and Cambodia Strengthen ‘Diamond Hexagon’ Cooperation Framework

Chinese Premier Li Qiang announced on Thursday that China is committed to enhancing the \"Diamond Hexagon\" cooperation framework with Cambodia. Speaking during his meeting with Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet at the East Asia cooperation leaders' meeting in Vientiane, Premier Li emphasized the deepening of the China-Cambodia community with a shared future.

Li highlighted the strong friendship between China and Cambodia, stating that both nations are steadfast allies with aligned futures. Under the strategic leadership of Chinese President Xi Jinping and Cambodian leaders, the bilateral community has entered a new era characterized by high quality, high level, and high standards.

China pledged continued support for Cambodia's development path, respecting its national conditions and safeguarding its sovereignty and strategic independence. Premier Li expressed China's intention to sustain intergenerational friendship, deepen strategic trust, and promote mutually beneficial cooperation.

Aligning closely with Cambodia's Pentagonal Strategy, China aims to accelerate the synergy between the Belt and Road Initiative and Cambodia's development goals. Both countries plan to implement the latest action plan for building their shared community, focusing on high-quality projects that ensure mutual benefits and win-win outcomes.

Key areas of cooperation include the formulation of the \"Industrial Development Corridor\" and preliminary work on the China-Cambodia railway. Additionally, both nations will actively promote the construction of the \"Fish and Rice Corridor,\" enhance infrastructure and energy cooperation, and strive for tangible results.

China also encouraged increased investment from Chinese enterprises into Cambodia and expressed willingness to import higher quality agricultural products from Cambodia. Furthermore, China is prepared to strengthen multilateral coordination with Cambodia to protect their common strategic interests.
