Pakistani PM Highlights Chinese Modernization as Blueprint for Economic Growth

Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has lauded the unique Chinese modernization model, positioning it as a cornerstone for Pakistan's economic development. In a recent interview with Chinese media, Sharif extended his congratulations on the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, emphasizing the remarkable achievements of the Chinese mainland.

Sharif expressed Pakistan's aspiration to emulate China's path of progress, highlighting the potential for enhanced economic cooperation, trade, and investment between the two nations. He noted that China's commitment to inclusiveness and multilateralism fosters peaceful global interactions, strengthening understanding and collaboration among various countries.

The Prime Minister also pointed to China's role in facilitating regional peace, citing the recent reconciliation dialogues among 14 Palestinian factions in Beijing as a testament to China's positive influence on global stability.

Highlighting the enduring friendship between Pakistan and China, Sharif described their relationship as exemplary, built on mutual trust and respect. He underscored the collaborative efforts of both nations on the international stage to promote regional and global peace and stability.

A significant focus of Sharif's remarks was the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), a flagship project of China's Belt and Road Initiative. Launched in 2013, the CPEC connects Gwadar Port in Pakistan's Balochistan province with Kashgar in China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, enhancing energy, transport, and industrial cooperation.

Sharif highlighted that the first phase of the CPEC successfully addressed critical issues like road connectivity and electricity shortages, which had previously hindered Pakistan's economic growth. He remarked that the corridor has now entered a new phase of high-quality development, with an expanded focus on agriculture, information technology, and mining sectors.

Looking ahead, the Prime Minister affirmed Pakistan and China's commitment to deepening economic ties and elevating their longstanding friendship to new heights, promising continued collaboration for sustained socio-economic advancement.
