China and Nepal Forge Stronger Ties to Boost Mutual Growth

During the United Nations General Assembly in New York, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi emphasized the importance of enhancing cooperation between China and Nepal. Meeting with Nepal's Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, Wang highlighted initiatives like the Belt and Road that aim to bring tangible benefits to both nations.

Wang, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, underscored Nepal's pivotal role in China’s neighborhood diplomacy. He expressed China’s commitment to fostering a closer China-Nepal community with a shared future, ensuring Nepal’s sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity are respected.

Highlighting the mutual respect between the two countries, Wang appreciated Nepal's stance against any forces using its territory for activities opposed to China. He also announced plans to enhance cultural and people-to-people exchanges, further solidifying the bonds between the two nations.

Prime Minister Oli echoed these sentiments, reaffirming Nepal’s unwavering support for the one-China policy. He assured that Nepal will continue to strengthen its partnership with China, aiming to build a collaborative future. Oli emphasized the collective support from the Nepali government, political parties, and its people in advancing Nepal-China friendship.

This meeting marks a significant step in deepening bilateral relations, with both countries committed to shared growth and cooperation.
