China and El Salvador to Strengthen Ties and Pursue Free Trade Agreement

In a significant move towards enhancing international cooperation, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi announced on Wednesday that China is ready to collaborate with El Salvador to upgrade bilateral ties. Speaking at the UN General Assembly in New York, Wang emphasized China's commitment to supporting El Salvador in achieving sustainable national development.

Wang Yi, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, highlighted that China is willing to assist El Salvador in independently exploring a development path that aligns with its unique national conditions. This partnership aims to foster mutual growth and strengthen economic relationships between the two nations.

One of the key initiatives discussed was the acceleration of negotiations on a free trade agreement. Wang Yi indicated that such an agreement would facilitate greater access for Salvadoran products in the Chinese market, boosting trade and economic collaboration.

Echoing the sentiments, Salvadoran Foreign Minister Alexandra Hill Tinoco affirmed El Salvador's steadfast adherence to the one-China principle. Hill expressed her country's dedication to expanding cooperation with China and deepening their bilateral friendship. She also conveyed optimism about finalizing the free trade agreement at the earliest opportunity, which would significantly enhance economic and trade cooperation between the two countries.

This strengthened partnership between China and El Salvador not only underscores the growing influence of China in the global arena but also highlights El Salvador's strategic efforts to diversify its international alliances and foster economic growth.
