China’s Xi Jinping Congratulates Sri Lankan President Dissanayake on Inauguration

Chinese President Xi Jinping extended his congratulations to Anura Kumara Dissanayake on his recent inauguration as the President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka.

In his message, Xi hailed China and Sri Lanka as traditional friendly neighbors. He highlighted that over the past 67 years since establishing diplomatic ties, the two nations have consistently understood and supported each other, exemplifying friendly coexistence and mutually beneficial cooperation between countries of different sizes.

Xi emphasized the importance of the development of China-Sri Lanka relations and expressed his readiness to collaborate with President Dissanayake to further the traditional friendship and enhance political mutual trust.

The Chinese leader also pledged to work together with President Dissanayake to facilitate more fruitful and high-quality Belt and Road cooperation. He aims to advance the China-Sri Lanka strategic cooperative partnership, characterized by sincere mutual assistance and enduring friendship, thereby better benefiting the people of both countries.
