Iran and Cuba Strengthen Ties to Counter U.S. Sanctions

At the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, Iran and Cuba publicly reaffirmed their mutual support in challenging U.S. \"hostile\" policies and sanctions, according to the Iranian Foreign Ministry.

During their meeting, Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi and Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla discussed the importance of strengthening bilateral ties and addressing regional and global issues of common interest.

Araghchi condemned the United States' unilateral decision to list Cuba as a state sponsor of terrorism—a designation also applied to Iran, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, and Syria—labeling it as part of Washington's ongoing \"hostile\" policies.

He emphasized that Iran, as a victim of U.S. sanctions, fully understands Cuba's situation and pledged unwavering support to Cuba in facing Washington's embargoes.

Cuban Foreign Minister Rodriguez Parrilla echoed this sentiment, stating that Cuba stands by Iran in resisting U.S. \"hostile\" measures.

The enduring collaboration between Iran and Cuba, both under U.S. sanctions, underscores their commitment to countering external pressures through cooperative efforts.
