On Monday, Chinese President Xi Jinping extended his heartfelt congratulations to Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) and President of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), on the occasion of the DPRK's 76th founding anniversary.
In his message, Xi highlighted the unity and vigorous development of the DPRK under the leadership of the WPK over the past 76 years. He commended Kim Jong Un for steering the Party and the people towards significant achievements in national construction and development, emphasizing the successful implementation of the guiding principles from the WPK's 8th Congress.
Looking ahead, Xi expressed confidence that the DPRK, under the continued leadership of the WPK, will achieve new victories in advancing DPRK-style socialism. He underscored the enduring friendship between China and the DPRK, describing their bond as being "linked by mountains and rivers."
This year also marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral diplomatic relations and the "China-DPRK Friendship Year," Xi noted. He reaffirmed China's commitment to maintaining a strategic and long-term perspective in bilateral relations, aiming to deepen strategic communication and strengthen coordination and cooperation.
Xi concluded his message by calling on both nations to jointly advance the cause of socialism, bringing greater benefits to their peoples and contributing to the peace, stability, development, and prosperity of the region and the world.
