President Xi emphasized that China and Ethiopia have consistently supported each other in safeguarding their core interests and opposing external interference, fostering an unbreakable friendship.
He outlined plans to expand pragmatic cooperation, including support for Ethiopia's role as a regional transport hub. This initiative aims to establish a rail-sea intermodal transport network in East Africa and develop a demonstration area for high-quality Belt and Road cooperation between China and Africa.
Furthermore, China expressed its willingness to enhance communication and collaboration with Ethiopia both regionally and within international frameworks like the UN and BRICS, striving to uphold global fairness and justice.
Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali praised China's approach, highlighting the equality and mutual respect in their bilateral ties. He noted that Chinese investments have significantly boosted Ethiopia's economic and social development.
Prime Minister Abiy affirmed Ethiopia's commitment to continue its strategic partnership with China, aiming for more fruitful outcomes through firm mutual support.
