Xi encouraged Mozambique to leverage the outcomes of the FOCAC summit to enhance economic, trade, and investment ties with China, fostering a stronger friendship between the countries. He also highlighted China's support for Mozambique in combating terrorism and maintaining national stability, indicating readiness to collaborate closely on multilateral platforms, including the United Nations.
Mozambican President Nyusi reiterated Mozambique's steadfast adherence to the one-China principle, supporting China's positions on critical issues such as the Taiwan question and the South China Sea. He affirmed Mozambique's backing of China's \"One Country, Two Systems\" policy and opposed unfounded criticisms related to human rights.
President Nyusi expressed Mozambique's desire to further strengthen cooperation with China in areas like the economy and trade, agriculture, connectivity, and security. He lauded China's global initiatives aimed at improving global governance and stated Mozambique's willingness to enhance mutual support on multilateral issues to foster a fairer and more reasonable international order.
The summit also witnessed the signing of bilateral agreements between China and Mozambique, including the export of pigeon peas, macadamia nuts, and cashew nuts to China, as well as cooperation in news media.
