The Chinese mainland has issued a stern warning to the Philippines following a maritime incident in the South China Sea. On Saturday noon, a Philippine naval vessel deliberately collided with a Chinese Coast Guard ship that was conducting a routine enforcement of maritime rights.
Liu Dejun, a spokesperson for the China Coast Guard, stated that the Philippine Navy ship No. 9701 illegally entered the Xianbin Jiao area at 8:02 a.m. and has since engaged in provocative actions. In response, China's navy issued warnings in accordance with relevant laws and regulations.
\"We once again warn the Philippines to face reality and give up illusions. Withdrawing the ship immediately on its own is the only correct way,\" Liu emphasized. He further warned of taking necessary measures against any actions that could threaten China's maritime rights, underscoring the nation's indisputable sovereignty over the Nansha Qundao, including the Xianbin Jiao, and its neighboring waters.
This incident highlights the ongoing tensions in the South China Sea, a region critical for its strategic and economic importance. As maritime disputes continue to surface, the Chinese mainland remains firm in asserting its territorial claims and ensuring the protection of its maritime interests.
