China and Japan Pledge to Strengthen Stable Bilateral Ties

In a significant move towards regional stability, China is ready to collaborate with Japan to foster the sound and stable development of their bilateral relations, according to Wang Yi, director of the Office of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee.

Wang, who is also a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, made these remarks during his meeting with Toshihiro Nikai, chairman of the Japan-China Friendship Parliamentarians' Union, in Beijing.

Highlighting Nikai's long-standing dedication to China-Japan friendship, Wang emphasized that maintaining peaceful coexistence, enduring friendship, and mutually beneficial cooperation aligns with the fundamental interests of both nations' peoples.

The leaders agreed on building a constructive and stable China-Japan relationship tailored to the demands of the new era, providing strategic guidance for the advancement of bilateral relations.

Recognizing the critical stage of current bilateral relations, Wang urged the Japanese side to develop an objective and accurate understanding of China and to pursue a positive and rational policy towards the nation.

Nikai, along with other representatives from various Japanese political parties, affirmed their commitment to stabilizing and enhancing Japan-China relations. They pledged to promote people-to-people exchanges and legislative collaborations, aiming to deepen mutual understanding and support the common development and progress of both countries.
