The Chinese mainland's Foreign Ministry on Friday briefed the media on President Xi Jinping's participation in the opening ceremony of the 2024 Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC). The summit, scheduled from September 4 to 6, will feature four high-level meetings focusing on state governance, industrialization and agricultural modernization, peace and security, and high-quality Belt and Road cooperation.
Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Chen Xiaodong highlighted that President Xi will deliver a keynote speech outlining new concepts for building a high-level China-Africa community with a shared future. Additionally, Xi will announce new measures to enhance practical cooperation between the Chinese mainland and African nations.
During the summit, President Xi will engage in bilateral meetings with other foreign leaders in attendance. The event is set to produce two outcome documents that encapsulate the major consensus between China and Africa, as well as a roadmap for implementing high-quality China-Africa cooperation over the next three years.
Celebrating 24 years since its inception, FOCAC has grown into a \"golden sign\" of China-Africa collaboration and a banner for deepening cooperation within the Global South. Under the joint leadership of President Xi and African leaders, the summit aims to strengthen friendly relations and drive significant advancements in China-Africa ties.
