China and Belarus Strengthen Ties in Agriculture and Freight Rail Cooperation

In a significant move to bolster economic ties, China and Belarus have pledged to deepen cooperation in the fields of agriculture and the China-Europe Railway Express service.

During a meeting held in Minsk, the two leaders—Chinese Premier Li Qiang and Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko—issued a joint communique highlighting the vast potential of agricultural collaboration between the two nations. They expressed readiness to enhance investment cooperation, aiming to unlock new opportunities in the agricultural sector.

The communique emphasized the mutual willingness to expand market access for agricultural and food products. Both parties welcomed the introduction of high-quality products into their respective markets and encouraged their enterprises to actively participate in trade exhibitions and events organized by China and Belarus. This openness is expected to facilitate stronger bilateral trade and support local farmers and businesses.

Additionally, the leaders agreed to intensify cooperation on the China-Europe Railway Express. By establishing an inter-governmental cooperation mechanism, they aim to promote infrastructure connectivity and ensure the safety and efficiency of the freight train transport corridor. This collaboration is set to enhance trade flows and support sustainable economic growth between China, Belarus, and broader Europe.
