Chinese Premier Li Qiang’s Belarus Visit Strengthens Strategic Partnership

Chinese Premier Li Qiang touched down in Minsk on Thursday for a pivotal official visit, responding to an invitation from Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko.

Upon his arrival, Li emphasized the enduring friendship between China and Belarus, highlighting that bilateral relations have seen remarkable growth since the establishment of diplomatic ties 32 years ago.

Under the leadership of Chinese President Xi Jinping and Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, the partnership has evolved into an all-weather comprehensive strategic alliance. Li pointed out the continuous enhancement of political mutual trust, significant advancements in Belt and Road cooperation, flourishing people-to-people and cultural exchanges, and successful international collaborations.

Highlighting recent developments, Li mentioned that the July meeting between the two heads of state set a strategic direction and introduced new arrangements for the future of China-Belarus relations.

China is committed to working closely with Belarus to implement the important consensus reached by the leaders, aligning development strategies, deepening mutually beneficial cooperation, sharing development opportunities, and achieving tangible results. This collaboration aims to enhance the well-being of both nations' people and contribute to regional and global peace, stability, development, and prosperity.

Li's visit to Belarus follows his role as co-chair at the 29th regular meeting between the Chinese and Russian heads of government in Moscow, as well as his subsequent visit to Russia, underlining China's active role in fostering international partnerships.
