China and Russia Commit to Enhanced Strategic Partnership

In a significant move towards deepening ties, Chinese Premier Li Qiang and Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin co-chaired the 29th regular meeting between their nations' heads of government on Wednesday. Premier Li affirmed China's readiness to collaborate with Russia to strengthen all-round practical cooperation, aiming to elevate the China-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination for a new era.

Highlighting the robust development of bilateral relations, Li emphasized that under the strategic guidance of both leaders, cooperation across various fields has demonstrated strong resilience and steady progress. He underscored the importance of mutual respect, mutual trust, everlasting friendship, and mutual benefit as the foundation of their 75-year diplomatic ties.

Prime Minister Mishustin echoed this sentiment, expressing Russia's commitment to implementing the consensus reached by both leaders. He outlined plans to deepen mutual trust and expand collaboration in areas such as investment, energy, economy and trade, culture, and sub-national sectors. Mishustin also highlighted the upcoming Russia-China Years of Culture as a key initiative.

The leaders acknowledged the complementary strengths and vast potential for practical cooperation between their countries. They agreed to advance collaboration in traditional sectors like economy and trade, investment, agriculture, and energy, while also exploring emerging fields including the digital economy, biomedicine, and green development. This partnership aims to foster sustainable growth and innovation, benefiting both nations and contributing to global stability.
