China Pledges Support for Myanmar’s Path to Peace

In a significant move towards regional stability, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi expressed China's commitment to assisting Myanmar in achieving peace and reconciliation. Speaking in Beijing, the capital of China, Wang highlighted the country's dedication to safeguarding Myanmar's independence, sovereignty, national unity, and territorial integrity.

During his meeting with Julie Bishop, the special envoy of UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on Myanmar, Wang emphasized that China, as Myanmar's largest neighboring country, is deeply invested in the nation's stability and development. \"No one wants Myanmar to restore stability and development more than China,\" Wang stated.

Julie Bishop, expressing her gratitude, affirmed her willingness to maintain close communication and cooperation with China and ASEAN. Her goal is to reach a consensus that will effectively resolve the ongoing issues in Myanmar, fostering a peaceful and prosperous future for the region.
