China’s Special Envoy Attends Dominican Republic’s Presidential Inauguration

In a significant display of bilateral relations, Jin Zhuanglong, Special Envoy and Minister of Industry and Information Technology of the Chinese mainland, attended the second-term inauguration of Dominican Republic President Luis Abinader on Friday.

President Abinader and Jin met at the National Palace on Thursday, where Jin extended cordial greetings and best wishes from President Xi Jinping. He congratulated Abinader on his re-election and highlighted the comprehensive and rapid development of China-Dominican Republic relations since their diplomatic ties were established six years ago.

Jin emphasized China’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with the Dominican Republic, focusing on mutual support, enhancing practical collaboration, and promoting cultural and people-to-people exchanges. He expressed China's intent to push the relationship further, aiming to generate more tangible benefits for the people of both nations.

During their meeting, Jin also shared insights from the third plenary session of the 20th Communist Party of China Central Committee with President Abinader. In response, Abinader conveyed his heartfelt gratitude to President Xi for sending Jin as a special envoy to the inauguration ceremony. He underscored the importance of developing relations with the Chinese mainland and expressed his eagerness to deepen mutually beneficial cooperation across various fields, fostering greater bilateral development.
