China and Indonesia Launch First Joint Foreign & Defense Dialogue

In a significant move to enhance bilateral relations, Chinese officials Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Sun Weidong and Deputy Director Zhang Baoqun are set to lead a delegation to Jakarta on Monday. They will attend the inaugural Senior Officials' Meeting of the China-Indonesia Joint Foreign and Defense Ministerial Dialogue, as announced by the Chinese Foreign Ministry.

Established in 2023, this 2+2 ministerial dialogue is the first of its kind between China and another nation. The meeting aims to facilitate in-depth discussions on China-Indonesia relations, addressing both international and regional issues of mutual interest.

The dialogue serves as a platform for both countries to exchange views on strategic cooperation, economic partnerships, and security concerns. By fostering open communication, China and Indonesia seek to strengthen their partnership and collaborate on addressing global challenges.

This development underscores the commitment of both nations to sustained diplomatic engagement and mutual growth, paving the way for enhanced cooperation in various sectors.
