China-US Youth Exchanges: Ambassador Calls for Stronger Ties

Chinese Ambassador to the United States, Xie Feng, has extended an invitation to young Americans to actively engage in strengthening China-US relations. Speaking during the launch of a new exchange and study program, Xie emphasized the pivotal role of youth in fostering enduring friendships between the two nations.

The programme, known as the Collegiate Immersion Bootcamp for U.S.-based Institutions to Jiangsu, brings together 90 students and faculty from prestigious universities including Duke, Brigham Young, and Columbia. Participants will explore cities like Suzhou, Wuxi, and Nanjing, immersing themselves in China's rich culture and booming innovation sectors.

\"This bootcamp is a testament to our commitment to the initiative proposed by Chinese President Xi Jinping to invite 50,000 American youths to China over the next five years,\" Xie stated. The ambassador highlighted the Young Envoys Scholarship program as a cornerstone in building bridges of understanding.

Through activities ranging from experiencing traditional Kunqu Opera to visiting cutting-edge science and technology museums, participants will gain firsthand insights into China's advancements and societal harmony. Xie believes these exchanges will cultivate a deeper connection, enabling youths to share authentic narratives about China.

By encouraging U.S. youth to witness China's landscapes and innovations, Ambassador Xie envisions these young ambassadors becoming key contributors to a vibrant, hopeful China-US relationship in the new era.
