Liu Jianchao, head of the International Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, led a CPC delegation to visit South Africa from Wednesday to Saturday.
During the visit, Liu met with Cyril Ramaphosa, leader of South Africa's ruling African National Congress (ANC) and South African president, Secretary-General of the ANC Fikile Mbalula, General Secretary of the South African Communist Party Solly Afrika Mapaila, and South African Minister of International Relations and Cooperation Ronald Lamola.
The CPC delegation also engaged in discussions and exchanges with South Africa's media and think tank personnel.
Both sides pledged to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, further maintain close inter-party exchanges, deepen the exchange of experience in state governance and administration, and promote practical cooperation in various areas to advance the development of China-South Africa and China-Africa relations.
