Chinese Premier Li Qiang on Tuesday congratulated Ursula von der Leyen on her reelection as the president of the European Commission.
In his message, Premier Li emphasized that the Chinese government places great importance on developing relations with the European Union (EU) and values the significant role and influence of the European Commission.
He highlighted that China-EU relations are currently experiencing steady development, with bilateral dialogue and cooperation yielding positive results.
Premier Li expressed China’s readiness to work with the EU to consolidate the political foundation of their relationship, enhance strategic mutual trust, strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation comprehensively, and jointly address global challenges. He added that such collaboration aims to contribute to the well-being of the people on both sides and to global stability and prosperity.
