The 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) concluded its third plenary session in Beijing from July 15 to 18, 2024, marking a significant step towards advancing comprehensive reforms aimed at modernizing China.
With 199 members and 165 alternate members in attendance, the session was presided over by the Political Bureau, with General Secretary Xi Jinping delivering key addresses. The central focus was the adoption of the Resolution on Further Deepening Reform Comprehensively to Advance Chinese Modernization, emphasizing the importance of innovative and sustainable growth strategies.

The session also saw the filling of vacant Central Committee seats and the resignation of Comrade Qin Gang. Furthermore, disciplinary actions were confirmed against Li Shangfu, Li Yuchao, and Sun Jinming for violations of Party discipline.
Looking ahead, the CPC aims to achieve significant milestones by 2035, laying a robust foundation for building China into a great modern socialist country by the mid-century. This comprehensive approach to reform underscores China's dedication to sustainable development, innovation, and the well-being of its people.
