China Welcomes Iran’s President-Elect, Strengthens Bilateral Ties

China has expressed appreciation for the remarks made by Iranian President-elect Masoud Pezeshkian regarding China-Iran relations. A spokesperson from the Chinese Foreign Ministry stated that China is ready to collaborate with Iran's new government to promote the steady and long-term development of their bilateral relations.

In an article published in the Tehran Times, President-elect Pezeshkian highlighted Iran’s commitment to its traditional friendship with China and expressed eagerness to collaborate more extensively with Beijing as both nations move towards a new global order.

During a daily press briefing, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian emphasized the long history of friendly exchanges between China and Iran. Lin noted that since establishing diplomatic ties over half a century ago, the bilateral relationship has seen consistent and steady development.

Amid complex regional and international dynamics, China and Iran have continuously supported each other, working together to strengthen strategic mutual trust. They have actively promoted exchanges and cooperation across various fields, maintaining effective communication and coordination on regional and international affairs.

Lin stated, \"This has not only benefited the Chinese and Iranian people, but also contributed to regional and world peace and stability.\" He further added, \"China attaches great importance to the development of China-Iran relations and stands ready to work with the new government to promote the steady and long-term development of the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.\"
