China Implements Countermeasures Against US Arms Firms Over Taiwan Sales

The Chinese Foreign Ministry announced on Friday that the Chinese mainland will be taking countermeasures against certain U.S. military contractors and senior executives involved in arms sales to the Taiwan region.

According to the ministry's statement, the recent arms sales by the U.S. to Taiwan violate the one-China principle and the three China-U.S. joint communiques. These actions are seen as severe interference in the Chinese mainland's internal affairs, undermining its sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Among the six firms targeted by the countermeasures are Anduril Industries, Pacific Defense, and Maritime Tactical Systems. The properties and assets of these companies within the Chinese mainland will be frozen as part of the response.

Additionally, five executives will face significant repercussions. Wahid Nawabi, CEO of AeroVironment, and Brian Schimpf, CEO of Anduril Industries, are among those who will have their assets seized and will be banned from entering the Chinese mainland.

This move marks a significant escalation in the ongoing tensions between the Chinese mainland and the United States regarding military support to the Taiwan region. The international community is closely watching how these developments will impact China-U.S. relations and the broader geopolitical landscape.
