China and Thailand Strengthen Ties Ahead of Diplomatic Anniversary

In a significant move towards strengthening international alliances, Chinese Vice President Han Zheng met with Thai Foreign Minister Maris Sangiampongsa in Beijing on Tuesday.

Han emphasized the deep-rooted friendship between China and Thailand, describing the two nations as good neighbors, friends, relatives, and partners. He reiterated China's commitment to developing China-Thailand relations from a strategic and long-term perspective.

With next year marking the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries, Han highlighted China's readiness to collaborate with Thailand in adhering to the crucial consensus established by their leaders. He underscored plans to bolster high-level exchanges, deepen practical cooperation, enhance people-to-people and cultural exchanges, and promote regional cooperation.

Furthering their partnership, China expressed willingness to join forces with Thailand in advancing high-quality Belt and Road initiatives and building a China-Thailand community with a shared future, as stated by Han.

Maris Sangiampongsa echoed these sentiments, noting that Thailand and China are trustworthy partners entering a new era of relations. He expressed Thailand's eagerness to use the upcoming 50th anniversary as an opportunity to deepen cooperation across various sectors and continuously advance bilateral ties.
