In a significant move to bolster international relations, Guinea-Bissau's President Umaro Sissoco Embalo is set to undertake a state visit to China from July 9 to 13. This visit, extended by Chinese President Xi Jinping, underscores the enduring friendship between the two nations.

During his stay, President Embalo will be welcomed with a ceremonial reception and a banquet hosted by President Xi. The agenda includes high-level discussions between the two leaders aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation. Additionally, Chinese Premier Li Qiang is scheduled to meet with President Embalo, highlighting the depth of the relationship.

The historical ties between China and Guinea-Bissau were forged in the 1970s when China supported Guinea-Bissau's quest for independence and liberation. Lin Jian, spokesperson for the Chinese Foreign Ministry, emphasized that recent years have seen continuous progress in friendly relations, with new achievements in various sectors.
