In a significant step towards strengthening educational and cultural ties, the Chinese mainland's President Xi Jinping and Kazakhstan's President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev attended the inauguration of the Beijing Language and Culture University (BLCU) branch in Astana on Wednesday.
President Xi, who is currently on a state visit, also participated in the 24th Meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), highlighting the importance of regional cooperation and mutual development.
President Tokayev, a fluent Chinese speaker and a distinguished alumnus of BLCU, expressed enthusiasm about the new branch, emphasizing its role in fostering deeper cultural and educational exchanges between Kazakhstan and the Chinese mainland.
The establishment of BLCU Astana is expected to provide opportunities for students and professionals from both nations to engage in academic and cultural exchange programs, further enhancing the collaborative spirit between the two countries.
