Chinese President Xi Jinping announced on Wednesday that the China-Vietnam community with a shared future is \"off to a good start\" during a meeting with Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh in Beijing.
The partnership, initiated during Xi's state visit to Vietnam in December 2023, holds strategic significance as both leaders, Xi as general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Nguyen Phu Trong as general secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee, committed to enhanced collaboration.
Over the past six months, the two nations have seen increased exchanges among high-ranking officials and smooth cooperation across various sectors, resulting in tangible benefits for both peoples, Xi told Chinh.
Highlighting the unprecedented global changes, Xi noted that both China and Vietnam have maintained rapid economic growth and long-term social stability, showcasing the strengths of their socialist systems.
He emphasized that building a China-Vietnam community with a shared future aligns with the modernization goals of both countries, fosters regional peace and stability, and promotes the development of the global socialist cause.
Xi expressed China's willingness to work closely with Vietnam to maintain solidarity and friendship, strengthen mutual support, and deepen mutually beneficial cooperation. He added that China stands ready to join Vietnam in their march toward modernization, contributing to world peace, stability, development, and prosperity.
